Homestudy Approved and more!

We completed our homestudy a few weeks ago so we are officially homestudy approved and ready to adopt! YEAH! We have not gone "active" with our agencies but plan to be "on the books" and open to be profiled with them by the end of this month. And notice I said "agencies".....this time around we decided to work with 2 agencies - Adoption STAR is our original agency, the one that helped us bring our son, Alex, home to us. The other agency is called Family Connections. They are a much smaller agency, and work with a very limited number of waiting families. But, friends of ours have had a great experience with them for their 2nd adoption and so we decided to work with them as well. More people working for us to find our baby can't hurt!

Even though we are not "active" with either of the agencies yet, we are very active right now in trying to find a potential birthmom on our own. To help with that process, we now have a toll-free number for prospective birthmoms to be able to contact us. Eventually this number will be included in ads we place in various newspapers and on our pass-along cards which we will be sending to friends and family and posting everywhere we go. For now it is available only on this blog.

We are so happy to be homestudy approved because we know that means we are closer to bringing our next baby home. We are excited to see how our journey unfolds.....if STAR finds us our baby, or Family Connections, or a friend of a friend, or our own advertising. But we are also nervous, too because, let's face it, waiting is not any fun. Mostly, we are confident that our baby will find us in the way that is meant to be. And we will be overjoyed when that day happens and we become a family of FOUR!
