An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet -
regardless of time, place, or circumstance.

This ancient Chinese belief reminds us that the baby that is meant for our family will find us......and may already be on his or her way! We can't wait to meet and welcome him or her to our family!

Adoption is AWESOME

Not that I didn't already know that, but today was a reminder of how awesome it is. I just found out that friends we met thru our adoption agency got a call that a baby boy was born on Tues and 24 hours later they were holding their new son. It doesn't get much better than that! One day you can be sitting, wondering when your baby will find you, when a birthmom will chose you, hoping and praying for your time to come - and then the very next day you could get the call that changes your whole life. And before you know it, you are holding your new baby! How awesome is that?!

Reading about their sudden journey to their son brought back so many similar memories of when we found out about our son, Alex. Once we got the call about him being born, the rest all happened so quickly. It was so wonderful to become parents that way - no better surprise!

I can't wait to see how our journey to our next baby unfolds. When will we get "the call"? Where will we be when we find out we are chosen? Will our baby already have been born? Or will we get matched with a expectant mom and get to participate in her pregnancy or even childbirth? Will our next baby be another son, or a daughter? What color hair and eyes will he/she have? Will he/she be teeny like Alex was or a chunker baby?

So many questions we can not answer yet. But someday we will be able to answer these questions and so many more. Someday we will be able to tell our next child his/her adoption story, just like we plan to do with Alex.

Exciting times.

Part of the reason I am writing this now is so when we are in the official wait if there are days that I am feeling down, feeling as if I just can't wait another day, I can read this post back and be reminded that our baby could be growing inside his/her birthmom's belly RIGHT NOW. Or that the next day we could get "the call" and meet our baby then. How ever it happens, it will be wonderful. And no matter when it happens, each day we are closer and closer to meeting him/her.

I love adoption.
